“The enlightened, enterprising and intelligent young minds that come to this school are called to manage and direct one of the most fruitful achievements of our time, I’m sure of it”, declared General de Gaulle, in his speech for the inauguration of the HEC campus in Jouy-en-Josas on 9th July, 1964. This message of confidence spoke of a School that was at the time undergoing a great transformation. The new campus effectively marks the result of a long line of reforms that strived to bring the school closer to the model of business schools that already existed in the United States and to adapt the training of future leaders to an increasingly competitive and international environment.
