«  WHAT I TAKE AWAY FROM THIS EXPERIENCE ARE PROFOUND PROFESSIONAL INSIGHTS, RICH HUMAN CONTACTS AND INSPIRATION FOR MY FUTURE CAREER. THE MAJOR ENCOURAGED ME TO WORK ON A PERSONAL PROJECT IN AN EMERGING MARKET WITH A STRONG FOCUS ON SUSTAINABILITY.  »
The EMBA program clearly broadens your horizons and the majors represent an important eye-opener on a specific topic. I chose the Reinventing Business in Emerging Markets major out of personal interest for a theme that is broadly discussed at the moment and that I wanted to discover in more detail. I was especially interested in the definition of a sustainable business approach, the impact on poverty and the potential of reverse innovation.

The two weeks in South Africa and India gave me a global understanding of the political, social and economic aspects of each country as well as relevant knowledge in social enterprises. The excellent mix of lectures, company visits and exchanges with participants made it possible to cover a wide range of areas. The India module was an excellent complement to the one in South Africa as it showed the differences of emerging markets in their business approaches and focus. What I take away from this experience are profound professional insights, rich human contacts and inspiration for my future career. The major encouraged me to work on a personal project in an emerging market with a strong focus on sustainability.
