HEC Paris history: The entrance of HEC’s new campus in Jouy en Josas

Contrary to what this rural scene might lead you to believe, this is not a photo of a family in a remote village in France. In fact, this photo shows the entrance to HEC’s campus in 1964, following its move to Jouy en Josas. In it we can see the caretakers and their children in front of the “pheasantry” (now bâtiment R) and the kennel. The previous owner of Jouy’s “Chateau Park,” Baron Adolphe Mallet, was a hunting enthusiast in an area full of game animals. There are actually still many of these animals on the campus today. In fact a wild boar hunt was organized in 2011, in order to ensure the security of our students.
