Lean and Agile Management for Competitive Performance
In the modern economic climate, companies must adopt an international approach when implementing policies related to purchasing, production and distribution. They must also take advantage of the latest technological developments when redesigning these policies. Successful performance in research, production and distribution enables companies to deliver high quality services at low cost, while maintaining the level of flexibility necessary to adapt to evolutions within their market. Over the last decade, both small and large businesses who have adopted such competitive strategies have dominated their markets.
This lecture will explore the leading approaches to competitive performance and will take examples from a wide range of manufacturing and service industries. It will focus specifically on ‘Lean and Agile’ management strategies as well as operations and supply chain management in the corporate world.
Professor Laoucine Kerbache
Laoucine Kerbache holds a Ph.D, an M.Sc and a B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering and Operation Research, University of Massachusetts, Amhurst (USA).
He is the CEO and Academic Dean of HEC Paris in Qatar, and Associate Dean and Director of the HEC Ph.D. Program.
He has been teaching, researching and consulting in the fields of operations and supply chain management, logistics and applied quantitative methods for more than twenty five years. His research is highly regarded and has been published in numerous papers and international journals. He has held various management positions in the academic world, and has acted as a consultant to various companies and international organizations designing MBA programs and executive management courses. He is currently a Vising Professor at ESADE (Spain.)
