The President of CCI Paris Ile-de-France, Pierre-Antoine Gailly, appoints Peter Todd as the new Dean of HEC Paris.
Bernard Ramanantsoa will resign this summer after serving as the head of HEC Paris for over 20 years. He is responsible for the outstanding evolution of the business school, by ensuring renowned academic excellence, advancing world-class research and developing its truly international reputation.
Introducing the new Dean of HEC Paris
Peter Todd is an acclaimed researcher and professor with over 25 years of academic experience. He holds a PhD from the University of British Columbia and specializes in the fields of innovation, management and information technology. He has held professorships at Queens School of Business, Ontario and the University of Houston, Texas.
In 2001, Peter Todd joined the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia. In 2005, he was appointed Dean of the McGill Desautels Faculty of Management in Montreal, where he managed over 200 colleagues, including 100 professors. During his tenure, he successfully undertook a number of bold administrative reforms, including the development of a portfolio of world-class programs and the implementation of new financing strategies that enabled the school to become largely self-funded.
An intensive selection process
Etienne Guyot, General Director of the CCI Paris Ile-de-France and his committee carried out a rigorous selection process to appoint the new Dean of HEC Paris. Twenty candidates applied for the position, and seven finalists completed a series of intensive interviews about their professional experience and strategic vision for HEC Paris. Pierre-Antoine Gailly, President of CCI Paris Ile-de-France, and the acting Dean of HEC Paris, Bernard Ramanantsoa, made the final decision.
A mission to continue the remarkable development of HEC Paris
Peter Todd will work specifically to enhance the internatioanal reputation of HEC Paris for academic excellence and research performance. He will also be highly involved in new fundraising initiatives for the HEC Foundation and Alumni Association.
