The World Corporate Universities Forum (WCU), organized the Orchid Associates Group, was held in Shanghai on 9 Feb 2015. New for this year, the forum explored the ongoing challenges organizations face in creating a financially robust and sustainable corporate university. Speakers focused on operational issues and resources needed to provide high-level programs using the very latest pedagogical approaches.
HEC Paris sponsored this annual event which brings together leading speakers from the world of HR. Professor Charles Henri Besseyres des Horts chaired the forum and gave a keynote speech on HR Transformations: New tendencies in the HR function and Human Capital Management. The presentation focused primarily on the evolution of the Human Resources field and the critical challenges Chinese organizations have to face today (such as globalization, sustainability, talent shortage, diversity, generation Y, social media, big data, etc.). In order to meet these challenges, Chinese organizations have to carry out some profound transformations in the management of their human capital in 6 main areas: cultural change, value creation, sustainability, organizational agility, digital revolution, and employee engagement. Additionally, Joseph Du, Business Development Director of HEC Executive Education China, chaired a panel discussion on the latest trends of training development strategy for 2015.
About 60 HR and Corporate Learning & Development professionals from well-known international and Chinese companies such as SIEMENS, P&G, DANONE, L’OREAL, NOVARTIS, PHILLIP, DELL, BAYER, BURBERRY, CARREFOUR, GOOGLE, and BAIDU, attended the forum. It provided them with the opportunity to discuss a diverse range of topics relevant to their field with peers by sharing their creative ideas and insights. Solution providers including some leading business schools such as HEC Paris and Harvard Business School also gave presentations sharing their latest research and providing information about their new products and services that can support the development of the Corporate University.
