Event
Since the outbreak of COVID-19, China has implemented the strictest measures to battle the epidemic, and managed to get the domestic situation under control in March. However, since March, the situation worldwide became more complex and devastating, medical systems overwhelmed, international traffic interrupted, economies stagnant, and social-political issues compounded. The world is facing severe challenges.
Should people from different continents stand together or should we blame globalization for allowing epidemic traveling faster than ever before? What is the impact of this unexpected disease on world economy and politics? How to rebuild the trust? Are there any lessons learned?
Jeremy Ghez, Associate Professor of Economics and International Affairs at HEC Paris, is invited to share with us his thoughts and findings on April 27 at 19h Beijing time in a Webinar with all interested participants. Professor Ghez will talk about:
-
Is the novel coronavirus the latest illustration of the risk of economic decoupling?
-
How the novel coronavirus affected the business environment?
-
What is the perception of China’s role in the global economy in the West? How to build the trust?
-
Identify some of the lessons learned and what the outbreak means for the global environment going forward.
